My Research

Currently I am working with DSGE model for the Finnish economy. It is called Aino. It is a joint project with Juha Kilponen, Mika Kuismanen and Jouko Vilmunen.

My previous research activities were connected to understanding the role of money in monetary policy. Working for the central bank which have direct inflation target made me  interested in the inflation targeting monetary policy in particular. I tried to contribute both in the theoretical and applied field.

More than a decade and a half ago I wrote my master's thesis on "The Demand for and Supply of Roundwood". It was an empirical study. I jumped to the field of monetary economics studying demand for money in my licenciate thesis. Again the approach was purely applied relying on the existing theory. Later I focused more towards empirical models which were more closely connected to the theoretical models. My doctoral thesis was titled "Demand for Money in Inflation Targeting Monetary Policy". It contains both economic theory and empirical application.
