Gorgeous, accurately and beautifully running flea market bargain.

Junghans Electora:

Clockwork is one of the first versions of the Junghans battery-powered clocks.
Clockwork is entirely based on traditional balance wheel, the battery is only made to wind-up the clock spring.

The back cover of the clockwork is engraved with the date 23.5.1962

Clockwork is model Junghans W 285.

Clock is powered by a spring. The spring is wound-up by solenoid as a visible image in black (= reel). Solenoid to throw the stem ends of the visible weights around every few minutes clockwise. Weights do not in any way involved in the clock running, the task is only wind up the string by the inertia of weights.
Solenoid is powered whenever the weights below the visible small spherical contact reach the tip of the  solenoid's yoke.
"Yoke" pushes then again the weights to the journey, causing the faint "clack" sound.
