ABOUT
THE PROGRAM YKAAVIO
BACKGROUND
YKAAVIO is a software package for planning of
traffic signal timings. The current version of the program is
suitable for drawing the green band diagrams of the coordinated
traffic signals. In future the program will be developed as more
suitable for planning and optimizing.
The first public use of YKAAVIO was at Helsinki University of
Technology in traffic signal planning course in spring 2005.
Nowadays the program is used also in Transportation and Traffic
Planning Division of the City of Helsinki.
The program is freeware provided that the source is
mentioned.

USABILITY (DRAWBACKS)
- No output method available for gif image except the screen
capture (PrtScr).
- The colours of movements in the band diagram are fixed (no
selection available)
- The band speed is the same in all timings used
simultaneously
- The planning and optimizing section of the
program is not yet available
Some drawbacks will be corrected in the future
versions of the program.
