YKaavio is a free software package for
planning the arterial coordination (green band) of signalized
junctions. It is based on the well-known graphical method
presented first time in the Finnish National Traffic Signal
Planning Handbook LIVASU-1978.
The current version of YKaavio is provided for drawing
and checking the time-space diagrams of coordinated signals.
Later some real planning options will be included, too

INPUT DATA |
Input data needed for the program:
- Distances between junctions
- Distance between stop lines of the same junction
- Movements (signal groups)
- Signal plans (timings)
- The objective speed of the green band
All input is given in tables. The link and junction
data can be changed using the graphical or numerical
interface directly on the screen
|
|
|
OUTPUT DATA |
The program draws the time- distance
diagram of the signal coordination, called green
band. Scales of the diagram can be
specified free.
The diagram shows in every junction and in every link:
- junction number and name
- link length and objective band speed in both
directions
- signal timings in graphical and in numerical format
- theoretical speed of the leading and lagging edges
of the green band.

OUTPUT IS
GRAPHICAL
The user interface of the
program is grafical. It is very descriptive, so the
objectives of the planning process are all the time
in hands.
SEVERAL TIMING PLANS
You can draw up to 16 timing plans simultaneously. So
it is easy to compare several possibilities to
coordinate traffic signals. |
